Our Process

Cornerstone's Candidate "S.U.C.C.E.S.S.™" Process (Smart, Unique, Client & Candidate Effective Search System)

Every candidate has a unique set of skills and experiences. Cornerstone Search Group employs a comprehensive, yet streamlined approach, to understand each candidate's experience, proficiencies and career objectives. Our process allows us to quickly and professionally identify and place candidates who are the "right fit" for our clients. This process, called S.U.C.C.E.S.S., includes the following phases.

Phase 1: Assessment
Phase 2: Information Gathering
Phase 3: Consultative
Phase 4: Matching and Networking
Phase 5: Interviewing
Phase 6: Offer
Phase 7: Resignation
Phase 8: Continuous Communications and Networking

Phase 1: Assessment

  • Review your skills, experiences and accomplishments.
  • Determine if your background potentially matches any currently open positions within our client network.
  • Proceed to the "Information Gathering Phase" if there is a potential match.
  • Proceed to the "Continue Communicating and Networking Phase" if there is not a potential match.

Phase 2: Information Gathering

  • Discuss and understand your immediate and long-term career goals (i.e. desired positions, responsibilities, technologies...).
  • Review and discuss in more detail your skills, experiences and accomplishments.
  • Discuss and understand other important criteria you will consider when evaluating potential positions (i.e. compensation, location, industries...).
  • Discuss and determine the references most knowledgeable about your abilities and accomplishments who can be contacted in confidence.

Phase 3: Consultative

  • Provide you with our advice regarding the competitive options available to you that will help you obtain the type of positions and responsibilities you desire in the short run and in the long run.
  • Provide you with our advice regarding compensation, locations and industries to help you meet your immediate and long-term career goals.
  • Agree upon the appropriate criteria for us to use in our efforts to assist you (i.e. type of positions and responsibilities, industries, locations, compensation ranges...).

Phase 4: Matching and Networking

  • Research our clients' current open positions and determine if there are any matches.
  • Discuss any matches with you before proceeding.
  • Proceed with representing your qualifications to the clients we've decided to pursue.
  • Research our proprietary client information to determine if there might be any potential matches (i.e. previous hires with skills and experiences similar to yours, upcoming projects/initiatives that will require hires with your skills and experiences...). Discuss these potential matches with you before proceeding with any presentations/introductions.
  • Proceed with networking with our proprietary client contacts to whom we've agreed to present/introduce you.
  • Proceed to the "Interviewing Phase" for matches resulting in interviews. Obtain and discuss client feedback with you for proceedings that don't result in an interview.

Phase 5: Interviewing

  • Coordinate and set up interviews for you and our clients.
  • Assist you with preparing for a successful interview.
  • Coordinate and set up subsequent (if any) interviews, and assist you with preparing for these subsequent interviews.
  • Obtain the client's feedback to share with you, and obtain your feedback to share with the client.

Phase 6: Offer

  • Provide you with our insights and advice to consider as you evaluate potential offers.
  • Provide you with our insights and advice regarding negotiating for a competitive compensation package.
  • Obtain an official offer from the client, and communicate this official offer information to you.
  • Communicate your acceptance, resignation date, start date and any other pertinent information to the client.

Phase 7: Resignation

  • Assist you with preparing for your professional resignation.
  • Assist you with preparing for the "counter-offer."
  • Meet during your wind-down phase to discuss an action plan for a strong start in your new position.

Phase 8: Continuous Communications and Networking

  • We're here to help you achieve your personal career goals. We accomplish this by understanding your career interests (i.e. desired positions, responsibilities, industries, locations, skills/experiences...) and by acting as your eyes and ears to the market. We will alert you to any potential matches that become available within our client network.
  • We're here to help you succeed as a individual professional at every stage of your career (i.e. Staff, Manager, Director, VP and C-level), and as a hiring manager responsible for finding, attracting, hiring and retaining experienced Pharmaceutical | Biotechnology professionals for your team.
  • We're here to make our network of proprietary contacts, both clients and candidates, intelligently available to you to help you satisfy your personal career goals and your management responsibilities.
